Delta In2ition Shower Head Review: 2-in-1 Design
Pros
- 2-in-1 combo
- Beautiful, luxurious design
- Metal construction
- Great low-pressure performance
Cons
- Relatively expensive
- Small range of spray setting
- Water restrictors limit the shower’s true performance
The design philosophy behind this shower is quite interesting. Even though it’s no longer uncommon for a combo 2-in-1 design to integrate the showerhead and the hand shower together into one, solid design, the way that the wedge-shaped hand shower detaches from the showerhead is still quite impressive to see for the first time.
Undocking the hand shower is a fairly straightforward process. You only need to hold the handle, push it up, and the hand shower will dislodge from the showerhead. There’s no need for a complicated magnetic docking base like with some other 2-in-1 designs. Instead, just slide the hand shower into the reverse wedge-shaped dock at the center of the showerhead and it will automatically be locked in place.
Luxurious Design
For such an expensive shower, it’s no wonder that the design looks so great. Since the Delta 58467 will be cast out of the metal of your choice, either chrome or stainless steel, the entire thing already has an elegant shine to it. If you were to give someone a house tour and pass by the bathroom, the difference between this shower and ones of lesser-quality will be apparent.
Performance
Low-Pressure Performance and Spray Settings
The showerhead can deal with a low-pressure water system quite well, enhancing the water flow to a pleasurable jet stream.
You can exploit the resulting high-pressure wash of the shower even further by using the four spray settings that it comes with. Those are Full Body Spray, Fast Massaging Spray, Full Body Spray With Massage, and Pause. All of these settings can loosen your tense muscles up in no time.
Water Restrictors
Many customers have reported that there exist a few water restrictors inside of the shower that drastically limits the shower’s performance.
One restrictor, painted in green, is at the base of the showerhead when it’s connected to the shower arm. Another, painted orange, can be spotted when you remove the hand shower’s wand from its hose.
If you can remove the water restrictors from the shower, it was reported that performance can increase by up to 30%. Of course, the showerhead can function fairly well without the water restrictors removed; but still, you’ll be wasting almost a quarter of its performance if you don’t.
